Jeri Mead,
SPUSD
Representative

Jeri Mead graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Home Economics teaching credential. She taught four years of high school before moving to Santa Paula in 1978 after she married her husband Mike. Jeri has stayed busy in the field of education teaching and directing the Santa Paula Co-operative Preschool, substitute teaching, working at Barbara Webster and McKevett as a Library Aide, teaching Family Literacy classes at Blanchard Community Library, teaching ESL classes in the Toyota Literacy Grant Program, teaching ten years at Bedell School, and then becoming a Reading First Coach at Bedell. Jeri received her Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Administration and her Administrative Services Credential from California State University Northridge and then became the Reading Administrator for SPESD for five years. Before she retired, Jeri left the district to become a K-8 principal.

Jeri and Mike have four adult children and now have nine precious grandchildren. They both love being grandparents and attending their grandchildren’s activities.

Jeri was elected to the Santa Paula Unified School Board in November 2018. She loves being on the board because she can continue working in the field of education. She enjoyed the staff and students in Santa Paula while she was employed in the district, and now as a school board member she can work with the other board members and district and site staff members to continue the process of improving student academics and the safety of all of our district students and staff.
