Native Santa Paulan and Santa Paula High School graduate Ed Arguelles is a retired teacher having taught American Government and History courses at Santa Paula High School from 1978 to 2012. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and multiple teaching credentials from Cal Lutheran College in Thousand Oaks. The recipient of a prestigious Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association in 2011 he has been honored by local, state and federal educational agencies throughout his 35-year teaching career for innovation and dedication to the students of Santa Paula. He is active in the Santa Paula Community serving on the Board of Directors of the S.P. Historical Society and Blanchard Library Endowment. “Eddie” lives in Santa Paula with his wife Patty.
